Steve Dean is a lifelong artist with a passion for drawing and painting and here he presents ‘Line and Pencil’ as his way of sharing tips and techniques in helping others explore their own creative discovery.

I’m based in the North of England and love to draw, sketch and paint whether in my studio or out and about.

Previously I had success as a published artist, collaborating with numerous industries to illustrate their brand and services, from construction companies and trade journals to telecom industry brands and housing associations.

I have a passion for creative art expression which I channel mostly through applying pencil and paint onto paper. For me and through lived experiences, be it on my travels or simply being local walking, observing, I love to capture and record moments with graphite on paper of people, landscape and the natural world. I truly believe by mark making and exploring my own creative output, I feel a general well being within.

Once you explore the world of line and pencil, maybe the idea of artistic expression can start to evolve for you and your own creative journey in making a line with pencil or simply making a mark with whatever medium you have to hand.
